Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED, that Agreement PR00004276 for intervention and prevention services for individuals who use violence involved in domestic violence cases for DASC clients during the contract period of June 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 with a not to exceed amount of $26,390 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the Agreements on behalf of the County; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse the funds as directed.

Background:

The Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) will provide intervention and prevention services to individuals who use violence involved in domestic violence cases for the Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC) within the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.

 

The Intervention and Prevention Specialist’s role is to provide supportive services to individuals who use violence in order to end the domestic violence cycle, reduce disparities, promote healthy families, partners, and parents. Supportive services will include creation of non-violence plans, and providing education on the negative impact domestic violence and a felony conviction can have on housing, employment, student loans, finances, voting, etc. for themselves, their family and their community. In addition, the specialist will provide community outreach, engagement, and education regarding domestic violence as well as resource referrals.

 

Payments by the county on other contracts with this vendor exceed $100,000 in the last 365 days and therefore the contract requires board approval.
