BE IT RESOLVED, that Agreement PR00004450 with International Business Machines Corporation for Enterprise Software and Services Offering (ESSO), during the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $8,500,000 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed. |

IBM is one of the county’s largest software vendors providing such products as FileNet, WebSphere, Cognos Analytics, and Cloud Pak as well as ongoing support for each. Hennepin County has used these products for many years and each of these applications provide mission critical functions for a variety of county business units.
This contract replaces a current Software and Services contract Hennepin County has with IBM. The actual expenditures related to this contract will depend in part on the county’s overall use of these products over the next three years. The not to exceed amount of $8.5 million will be sufficient for Hennepin County’s expected use of these products and is included in IT’s budget. This contract also aligns the contract dates for these products, which under the previous contract had different end dates.
