Two Amds for the provision of countywide occupational medicine services, extending end dates to 06/30/24, total combined new NTE $1,450,000
Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED, that Amendments 1 to Agreements PR00001014 with Summit Orthopedics LTD. d/b/a Minnesota Occupational Health, to provide occupational medicine services, extending the contract period through June 30, 2024, increasing the not to exceed amount by $450,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $850,000; and PR00001013 with HealthPartners, Inc., to provide occupational medicine services, extending the contract period through June 30, 2024, increasing the not to exceed amount by $200,000 for a new not to exceed amount of $600,000 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the Amendments on behalf of the county; and that the Controller be authorized to disburse funds as directed.

Background:

Federal and state occupational safety laws and regulations require that the county perform medical screening to determine that they are physically qualified to perform their assigned work. The services provided under this contract are for pre-employment physicals, OSHA annual medical surveillance requirements, fitness for duty (Return to Work) and HR drug and alcohol testing. This must be performed by professionals certified in occupational medicine.

 

Each agreement is available for use county­wide. The purpose for the occupational health program includes preserving employee health, reducing workers' compensation liability, and meeting legal requirements.

 

Current Request: This request seeks approval for Amendments to Agreements PR00001014 and PR00001013 for occupational medicine services, extending end dates to 06/30/24, total combined new NTE $1,450,000. Each agreement may be utilized countywide and is funded by the operating budgets of the user departments.
