Diversion Solutions provides adult diversion programming for the Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO).

Diversion Solutions provides services for adults that HCAO diverts from the formal criminal justice process. These cases are diverted prior to felony charges being filed or in some cases after formal charging. The cases diverted generally involve first time offenders and less serious felony charges. Diversion is a tool directly attempting to address disparities in the criminal justice system by allowing offenders to engage in treatment and rehabilitation with the end result of not having a criminal conviction.

This contract amendment will add urine analysis (UA) drug testing services to the Diversion Solutions contract. The addition of UA services is deemed to be essential and imperative by HCAO and Diversion Solutions to ensure sobriety, compliance and rehabilitation for offenders involved in these cases. This was previously a service that was attempted to be provided by the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation, Probation Services but a change in status in that organization required that we find alternative service solutions. Diversion Solutions was able to incorporate this service into their existing contract.
