Background:
The Minnesota Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force (MNHITF) has been in place since 2017. Agencies with full time participation include: Minneapolis Police Department, St. Paul Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Buffalo Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). There are 22 agencies participating in a part time capacity.
The parties to this Agreement are units of government responsible for the enforcement of human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children: prevention, education and enforcement in their respective jurisdictions. The parties desire to work cooperatively in the enforcement of human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children laws. The BCA will provide a Senior Special Agent who will serve as the Commander of the task force. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) provides a full time detective to serve as a member of the task force.
Participating agencies provide all applicable salary compensation and fringe benefits to their employees. The cost of overtime related to task force cases shall be reimbursed from the Task Force to the HCSO.
This amendment provides additional funding to reimburse the HCSO for the cost of overtime related to task force cases.
