Maple Grove, in partnership with the county, is leading a roadway improvement project along Troy Lane from 73rd to 83rd avenues with improvements for accessibility, multi-use trails, drainage, retaining walls, and pavement condition.

Proposed Agreement PW 25-34-22 stipulates that the city will lead the project, develop the plans and specifications with county staff input, receive bids, and administer the contract. The county will participate in the construction at county cost not to exceed $1,000,000. After project completion, maintenance of the improvements will be assigned per Agreement PW 25-34-22.

The city is leading community engagement efforts to collect feedback and develop a design that meets the community’s needs. The city is providing project updates via the city website and mailing notifications.

County funding will be provided by CP 2174900. Construction is scheduled for summer 2022 with substantial completion in summer 2023.

Current Request: This request seeks authorization to negotiate and execute Agreement PW 25-34-22 with the city of Maple Grove for cost participation and maintenance responsibilities for Troy Lane rehabilitation, CP 2174900, at county cost not to exceed $1,000,000.

Impacts/Outcomes: This action supports the county’s climate action and disparity reduction efforts by improving accessibility, mobility and safety for people walking and biking and extends the life of county assets.
