The county, in collaboration with the city of Minnetonka, is leading a project to replace the existing retaining wall along County Road 101 between Creek View Trail and Townline Road. On June 14, 2022, two bids were received for the project, with the lowest responsive bid submitted by JL Theis, Inc.

Funding for the project is available in Capital Project (CP) 2183300 Safety and Asset Management, with expenses tracked in its associated subproject CP 2200300: Replace existing retaining wall along CSAH 101 just north of CSAH 62 (Townline Rd) in Minnetonka. The project will include aesthetic elements such as ornamental metal railings, which will be funded by the city through a separate Agreement PW 16-15-22 between the county and the city, at an estimated county receivable of $80,000.

Current Request: Award a contract to JL Theis, Inc. in the amount of $567,899 for reconstruction of a retaining wall on County Road 101 between Creek View Trail and Townline Road, CP 2183300.

Impacts/Outcomes: The proposed improvements align with the county’s Mobility 2040 Plan, disparity reduction and climate action goals by replacing an aging retaining wall and sidewalk to preserve and enhance the resiliency of these county assets.
