WHEREAS, Jane Shanard served with distinction as a member of the Hennepin County Library Board from April 2011 until February 2017; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Shanard worked to strengthen Outreach Services by advocating for work to bring the community into the library – and take the library out into the community – to ensure that services and programs are available for all; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Shanard showed her appreciation for staff and volunteers by faithfully attending many recognition, anniversary and years of service events; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Shanard has been a faithful and steadfast colleague who contributed significantly to the Hennepin County Library system’s goals and objectives; who has been a strong advocate for outreach services, collections, library buildings and space, technology, communication, library administration and staff;
