BE IT RESOLVED, that Joint Powers Agreement A177360 between the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and the City of Minneapolis for joint enforcement patrols, during the period May 26, 2017 through September 2, 2017, with the receivable amount of $20,000 be approved; that the Chair of the Board be authorized to sign the Agreement on behalf of the County; and that the Controller be authorized to receive and disburse funds as directed. |

In response to increased incidents in violent crime in Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is partnering with the Minneapolis Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies, in conducting Joint Enforcement Team (JET) directed patrols in Minneapolis.
JET personnel provide an increased law enforcement proactive presence and increased response capability to violent crimes. JET personnel conduct patrols on foot and in vehicles in the neighborhoods most impacted by gun violence. HCSO has two deputies assigned to the JET on Friday and Saturday nights, from 4 pm to 2 am.
