Background:
The County Board Open Appointments Policy and MN Statutes Section 383B.102 require that appointments to unclassified service have confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners.
Following exemplary service as the acting Hennepin Health Executive Director, the County Administrator is recommending Anne Kanyusik Yoakum be appointed as the Hennepin Health Executive Director.
Ms. Yoakum brings extensive managed care and human services experience to the position. Prior to serving as the acting Hennepin Health Executive Director, Ms. Yoakum served as the Hennepin Health Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer. Ms. Yoakum has held a variety of health care leadership positions including, Director and Associate Counsel at UCare Minnesota; Associate General Counsel, Life Sciences at OptumInsight; and Senior Attorney, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at BlueCross and BlueShield of Minnesota.
In her current acting position, Ms. Yoakum has demonstrated her ability to provide executive level leadership and direction to the Hennepin Health management team in times of significant change in Minnesota’s managed care landscape.
Ms. Yoakum has a Master’s in Public Health degree from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
