Background:
The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved the 2019 State Legislative Platform on November 27, 2018.
The Catholic Charities is actively pursuing a $10 million state bonding appropriation to assist with a $20 million relocation of Hope Street for homeless youth from St. Joseph’s Home for Children Campus and to integrate a “store front” clinic for Health care for the Homeless. The state and private investment will be used to relocate the Hope Street program to a new location and to expand health care services for homeless persons at a new location.
This request authorizes Intergovernmental Relations staff to include the Catholic Charities request under the “Non-profit requests” heading of the 2019 State Legislative Platform.
